Terms & Conditions

Last updated: 15/05/2026

These Terms & Conditions govern access to and use of TaxBuddie, including TaxBuddie Pro. By creating an account, subscribing, or using the app, you agree to these terms.

1. What TaxBuddie Is

TaxBuddie is a digital record-keeping and workflow tool for UK gig riders and self-employed users. It helps users log shifts, earnings, mileage, expenses, receipts, exports, and related records.

TaxBuddie is not an accountancy firm, tax adviser, law firm, or financial adviser.

2. No Tax, Legal, Or Financial Advice

TaxBuddie provides information, calculations, summaries, estimates, alerts, reminders, and export tools for convenience only. Nothing in the app is tax advice, legal advice, accounting advice, or financial advice.

You remain solely responsible for checking your figures, records, deductions, mileage claims, expenses, filing positions, and any submission made to HMRC or shared with an accountant or adviser.

3. User Responsibility For Records

You are responsible for all data you enter, upload, edit, import, export, store, or rely on through TaxBuddie, including:

  • shift times, mileage, earnings, tips, and expenses;
  • uploaded receipts, statements, and evidence files;
  • imported platform data and any edits made to it; and
  • any filing pack, PDF, CSV, summary, or report generated by the app.

You must independently review all records before using them for bookkeeping, tax returns, claims, or compliance purposes.

4. Statement Imports, Forecasts, Alerts, And Beta Features

Some TaxBuddie features, including statement imports, estimates, tax pots, trends, nudges, forecasts, and filing exports, rely on assumptions, third-party source data, user-provided data, or evolving logic.

These features may contain errors, omissions, categorisation issues, date mismatches, platform parsing issues, or incomplete information. Any feature marked beta, testing, estimate, forecast, reminder, insight, or similar wording must be treated as informational only.

5. HMRC, Self Assessment, And Compliance

TaxBuddie is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting on behalf of HMRC. References to HMRC, Self Assessment, tax years, deadlines, mileage rates, exports, or submission packs are provided to help users organise records only.

The app does not submit tax returns to HMRC on your behalf unless explicitly stated in a future feature release. You remain solely responsible for filing accurately and on time, keeping evidence, understanding eligibility for deductions, and meeting your legal obligations.

6. Accounts And Security

You are responsible for keeping your login details secure and for all activity carried out using your account. You must provide accurate information when creating your account and must not impersonate another person, create misleading accounts, or use the service unlawfully.

7. TaxBuddie Pro, Trial, Billing, And Renewal

TaxBuddie Pro is a paid subscription product. Pricing, features, and trial length are displayed in-app and at checkout at the time of purchase.

  • The current advertised Pro trial is 14 days unless a different offer is explicitly shown at checkout.
  • After the trial ends, the subscription renews at the displayed monthly price unless cancelled before renewal.
  • Billing, renewals, payment collection, and cancellation are processed by Stripe.
  • You can manage cancellation and billing details through the Stripe billing portal.
  • Unless required by law, partially used billing periods are not refunded.

Any statutory consumer rights you may have under applicable law remain unaffected by these terms.

8. Access, Changes, And Availability

We may update, improve, suspend, withdraw, limit, or change features, functionality, plans, integrations, or availability at any time. We may also fix bugs, carry out maintenance, or respond to outages, abuse, legal obligations, or security incidents.

TaxBuddie is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, error-free performance, data import compatibility, or ongoing availability of any specific feature or integration.

9. Acceptable Use

You must not misuse the service. This includes attempting to interfere with the app, scrape or reverse engineer it unlawfully, bypass subscription restrictions, abuse exports, upload unlawful or harmful content, or use the platform in a way that risks service stability, security, or other users.

10. Intellectual Property

TaxBuddie, its branding, design, code, workflows, text, graphics, exports, and related materials remain the property of the operator or its licensors, except for content that you upload or provide yourself. These terms do not transfer ownership of the app or its underlying intellectual property to you.

11. Data And Privacy

Your use of TaxBuddie is also subject to the app’s privacy and data-handling approach. By using the service, you acknowledge that your data may be stored and processed to provide app functionality, syncing, subscriptions, reminders, exports, support, and security controls.

12. Limitation Of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, TaxBuddie and its operator will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or economic loss, including lost profits, lost tax savings, loss of business opportunity, inaccurate filings, missed deductions, missed deadlines, penalties, fines, interest, accountant costs, data corruption, third-party outages, or reliance on imported or estimated figures.

Where liability cannot be excluded but can be limited, our total liability arising out of or in connection with the service will be limited to the amount you paid for TaxBuddie Pro in the 12 months immediately before the event giving rise to the claim, or £50 if greater.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot legally be excluded, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that the law does not allow to be excluded.

13. Termination

We may suspend or terminate access where reasonably necessary, including for misuse, fraud, abuse, non-payment, legal or security reasons, or material breach of these terms.

14. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, unless mandatory local consumer law applies differently. The courts of England and Wales will have jurisdiction, subject to any non-excludable consumer rights regarding forum.

For support or legal/admin contact relating to these terms, email raheemshah2809@gmail.com.
